I find that the annotation on poems are not very detailed, missing key meanings of sentences. the other notes only seem to force on language and not in great detail again.I like the theme comparison at the end but even that misses some of the poems out. their is also very little on structure method. I would have thought that this book would not help to to get an a8 but at highest a B.

This book's great, it covers everything you need for the Different Cultures anthology. Its all really clear and easy to understand - i got an A* and couldn't have done it with out this book!!

AQA exam board have 2 different English Language and Literature programmes (A and B). This material is for English A - there seems to be no revision support for English B which my son was taking so check before you buy.

Wow this book really is great! It lists all the poems and annotates them with critical information you can use for your aqa a english language essays telling you all the key themes, feelings and attitudes towards the poem and lanuage used. Then if thats not enough it gives you sample essays by top class students on titles that regualarly come up in the exams. At the end of the book it gives you the common themes of all the poems allowing you to compare each poem in the essay. If your teacher doesnt know their stuff or your struggling to remember the class work this will explain each poem and help you get a good grade in your gcse. "I very much doubt i would have passed my gcse without it." I really recommend you buy it!
