Summaries and Customer Reviews are supplied by Amazon.com It saddens me that some people will never read this book. This is possibly my favorite book of all time. It does what it says on the tin, and so much more. It has opened my eyes to how people (and I)think, and how to deal with them. Yet the advice it gives seems so obvious, so naturally easy to follow if you read it with even a thimbleful of willingness to listen. It explains how to deal with people by explaining people, in easy to read, enjoyable, conversational tones which make you understand, and lead you to the conclusions almost by yourself. Every page makes me gasp "It's true! I DO do this! And so does everybody else! How have I not noticed this before? What a fool I was." And then I giggle like a schoolgirl as I contemplate the unending list of ways that I can change my manner for my (and everybody else's) benefit. Since reading it, I have increased my relations with everybody I know severalfold, and feel happier and more confident in any and every situation requiring even an iota of people skills. I struggle to explain and reccommend this book enough. Read it. Please, please, read this book. I promise it will not leave you unchanged. Classic A timeless classic. Well written, containing good points. A bit of babble in places, but for a work of this age to still be equally valid today speaks volumes. Timeless 95%+ of the content of this book still applies today. A MUST read for every entrepreneur and/or sales person. The Girlfriend experience says - everybody should read and learn from this book What a genius book! It's so old it was first published in 1953. However what it teaches is timeless. Yes it's American (but not so much so that it's irritating to read) - it really is a must read. It's been kept up to date by referring to anecdotes and people from more recent times as well as some old classics ie.. Roosevelt. Someone I knew nothing about, but since reading the book I'm keen to read his autobiography. He refers to highly successful people and looks at why they were successful, and it's all down to people skills.
I seriously think that everyone should read this book, because if everyone did and put into practice his teachings the world would be a better place.
Some of the suggestions are so basic, yet you don't really think about them until you read them in black and white. Fascinating for anyone interested in getting along with people generally in life, but also very useful for people who own big companies. Throughout he refers to situations where people have followed his teachings and changed their lives for the better.
It's very easy to read and has been sectioned into readable chapters, which he recommends that you read twice to make sure it sinks in. Which I have found useful, but it does mean it can take you a while to read. Definitely worth the effort though. I cannot praise this book enough! The best book for personal skills It is a perfect book if you are really determined to win firends and influence people. I had a bit of difficulties with people I was dealing with at work. Just applied few rules and things have changed up side down. Now that they will do almost anything I want them to do!! I was really shocked and amazed by this. It is unbelivable that people's mentality and way of behaviour are same as it was when this book was written. I would recommend that everyone should read this book. If that happens this world would be a better and a beautiful place to live. The price of the book does not do justice to the value of the book. The book worth more than that. This is a life changing book. So dont wait read it today....dont wait untill tomorrow.........
