Playing Easy To Get Anthology
Customer Rating:  Score = 4 Score = 4 Score = 4 Score = 4 Score = 4

Playing Easy To Get is an erotic romance anthology that I wanted to read for the story by Kresley Cole which is part of her Immortals After Dark series. I've heard a lot of good things about Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series for so was also looking forward to trying her B.A.D series. I've not read anything by Jaid Black before either so this was a good way to try a couple of new to me authors. Overall I'd say this book is worth reading for the stories by Kresley Cole and Sherrilyn Kenyon but I wasn't that keen on Jaid Black story. I'd recommend this if you're a fan of any of the authors included in the anthology or if you'd like to try out any of these series or authors. I'm giving this 4 stars based on the Cole & Kenyon stories.

Turn Up the Heat - Sherrilyn Kenyon 4/5 Stars
This is the first story I've read in Sherrilyn Kenyon's BAD series and I thought it was an enjoyable story. When Vince and Allison meet the attraction is instant and things build very quickly between them but you have to expect that in a romance novella when there isn't much time to build a relationship slowly. I liked both of the main characters and thought they complimented each other well. I will definitely be checking out more books in this series as I'm very curious to find out more about the Bureau of American Defense and the men and women who work for them.

Hunter's Oath - Jaid Black 2/5 Stars
This was my least favorite story in the anthology - I just didn't like the way the heroine Sofia is kidnapped and then sold as a Bride in a a secret underground Viking world she was taken to. The "Brides" are basically given no choice in the matter and might as well be being sold into slavery. Force fed an aphrodisiac before the auction she has no choice but to consumate her new marriage unless she wants to be in unbearable pain. I found the whole thing completely unbelievable and it just wasn't my kind of story. I don't think I'll be reading any more of this series.

The Warlord Wants Forever - Kresley Cole 4/5 Stars
This story was the main reason I wanted to read the anthology as I've already read the next 3 books in the Immortals After Dark series and it was my favorite story in the book. I have to confess that I wasn't that keen on Myst at the start of the story but she did grow on me as I got to know her better and I really liked Wroth from the beginning. This is a great introduction to the series if you haven't started reading it yet and it's a series I would definitely recommend to paranormal romance fans.

Kresley Cole's story stands out
Customer Rating:  Score = 4 Score = 4 Score = 4 Score = 4 Score = 4

This book contains 3 mini novels within it, longer than short stories but shorter than a full-blown book each.

Sherrilyn Kenyon- the least enjoyable of the three stories. Story about a woman who wins a competition to stay on an island and live out her fantasies. I didn't like the female character and found the story didn't ring true or engage me in any way. The male hero was fine but just the whole ridiculous idea of the comptetition in the first place put me off. I think it was because it wasn't set in the world of the paranormal so I wasn't expecting to have to suspend my disbelief and it bugged me.

Jaid Black- hadn't heard of her before but her story of a woman kidnapped to be sold off as a wife to an underground civilisation of Vikings was great. She writes in a very similar style to Kresley Cole if you like that. Full of passion and I actually cared about the characters. Very hot.

Kresley Cole- the story of Myst the Coveted, a character from The Immortals after dark series. Myst tries (but not very hard) not to be captured by the vampire that she has blooded. Easier to understand if you have read the first 2 or 3 books in the series, I think. I loved it! I was glad to find out the details of how Myst ended up with her vampire. I was hinted at in the other Immortals books but now I know! Hot stuff and funny too.

Worth buying for the second 2 stories, especially the Kresley Cole one and the first one isn't so awful, I suppose. Doesn't inspire me to buy any other Sherrilyn Kenyon though.

Great Cole, Average Black, Bad Kenyon
Customer Rating:  Score = 3 Score = 3 Score = 3 Score = 3 Score = 3

Turn up the Heat by Sherrilyn Kenyon was pretty awful. Totally unbelievable, no depth, and just plain bad writing. Allison wins a holiday on a fantasy island and soon meets the mysterious and dangerous Vince. But the mafia is after him and together they are on a run for their lives. I ended up skimming most of this. The action was boring and the sex scenes just as uninteresting. It wouldn't make me want to read more from her.

Hunter's Oath by Jaid Black was better but still lacked... depth. It was entertaining but not totally believable. Sofia is in the Arctic Circle when she is kidnapped and taken underground to be sold at a Viking market as a bride. The Viking warrior, Johen, must convince her to accept her fate and that they belong together. This was very entertaining. Pure brain candy.

The Warlord Wants Forever by Kresley Cole was the best story by far. The plot was interesting and the characters exciting. They had depth and the plot made you want more. Luckily, it's just the start of her Immortals After Dark series, so there's a lot more to come!! Nikolai the vampire is blooded by the Valkyrie Myst the Coveted, and will do whatever it takes to claim her. But their races are at war and their love forbidden. But he is not the only one after Myst...

I would only buy this one for the Cole story. It's maybe not worth buying it for one story though so if you can borrow it or download it I highly recommend that.

i bought this book this book especially for kresley coles story. i found this book excellent, i couldnt put it down.
i have other books written by sherilyn keynon and also found this book hard to put down.
on the other hand i have never read a book by jaid black, and i think i never will again. the story was not very interesting at all, the writing not very good either. the characters were good enough, yet the plot did them no favours.
