The 5 Tibetans unplugged
Customer Rating:  Score = 4 Score = 4 Score = 4 Score = 4 Score = 4

Hi everyone,

If you want a quick way to keep fit, strong and agile this is definitely the routine to go for. Once you learn the routine you can do it in about 10 minutes and it works wonderfully well if you do it every day. The author has added some useful stuff on breathing, relaxation and meditation but the core message of the exercises is what it's all about.

S0 easy yoga

This little book makes so much sense. It describes a yoga workout that can easily be adopted into a busy lifestyle. Within a short time the exercises are well on the way to being mastered within one's own capability. A real find.

Power yoga

Good sturdy yoga exercises! They will make you more supple, but it will take time. They are not so easy to perform but do them in the morning not in the efternoon - dizziness can appear.

Easy to read. Easy to understand. Easy to follow, get into action and do the 5 Tibetans. Instant results especially mentally.
Recommended by a yoga pro. Very easy and best for yoga beginners who want something more energetic and practical than chanting :) Great tips for the right breathing. Lots of inspiring tips about life in general and a positive attitude.
Loved it. Am doing the 5 tibetans every day.

Five Star for the Exercises
Customer Rating:  Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5 Score = 5

I give this book a five star simply for the exercises alone, but as of the other content in the book a miserable one star. I decided to practice Yoga when I began to have back problems, I visited my doctor and she said the best thing you can do is take up Yoga. I started out on various long routines that couldn't fit well with my schedule. So, as a practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism, I decided to purchase this book.

The Five rites (six including the end breathing exercise) are quick and easy to do and it has changed my health dramatically. I have lots more energy (mainly due to the breathing exercises that the author took the liberty to include - which are essential), my strength has improved and also my mental life is much more stable due to the practices, which are also great to do before a meditation session. Also, for all those back pain sufferers (like me in the past) say goodbye to back ache completely. I used to get lower back problems all the time, everyday, but since I have been practicing this (after about a month or two) I have not had back ache since!!! It really is a well balanced routine that is WELL worth the extra 20 minutes in the morning. You still get the benefits from only doing 5 to 10 repetitions as well, so if you're in a rush in the morning you can always fit them in, and they wake you up much better than any caffeine drink.

However, I am sceptical of the author himself. Being well read in spirituality, particularly Tibetan Buddhism, the author often makes odd and unjustified remarks, especially due to celibacy which is an effective time tested way of keeping ones morality. The author seems to see celibacy as something to be avoided. At times the author also embarks on egotistical anecdotes about his own spiritual experiences. Therefore, I would be very sceptical about taking everything the authors says as truth.

But, the practices in isolation are great and well explained, and the cost benefit from them is fantastic. However, if you type the five Tibetans on the internet you will get exactly the same explanations (often quote for quote) and often better illustrations/photographs of the postures. So, unless you want to read this authors "unique" experience, you're just as best printing the practices off the internet!?
